The Science

AOI is an integrated multisensory environment acting on several physiological pathways at once. We are transparent about what is established, what is emerging, and what we measure directly.

Observed in our WHOOP study

Thirty participants followed on their own devices. 100% showed either measurable improvement or stable physiology, including:

  • Recovery scores rose over consecutive sessions
  • Heart-rate variability (HRV) increased
  • Resting heart rate trended lower
  • Sleep quality and duration improved
  • A shift consistent with a parasympathetic, recovery state

Observed across thirty participants on their own devices, in real-world conditions; individual responses varied.

Why it works

Multisensory integration
The brain integrates simultaneous inputs; light and sound delivered together in a 360° field can act differently from either alone.
Photobiomodulation
Red and near-infrared light acts on mitochondrial cytochrome-c oxidase — ATP production, redox signalling and the inflammatory response — an established research field.
40 Hz gamma stimulation
Synchronised 40 Hz light and sound, studied at MIT for attention, memory and neural synchrony — the strongest evidence for combined sensory stimulation.

WHOOP findings are observational, from real-world use; they do not establish causality. Component-level evidence from peer-reviewed photobiomodulation, audiovisual and sound research supports the design of the AOI system, but does not on its own prove it. Standardised, controlled AOI research is ongoing. WHOOP is a trademark of WHOOP, Inc., which took no part in these observations and does not endorse AOI.

Live Blood Analysis

Beyond wearables — live blood darkfield microscopy of the same client, filmed before and after a single AOI Earth session.

BeforePre-session baseline
Darkfield microscopy before the session: red cells stacked edge-to-edge in long chains
AfterSame client, one AOI Earth session later
Darkfield microscopy after the session: cells separated and evenly dispersed

What changed

Aggregation cleared
Baseline shows red cells stacked edge-to-edge in long rouleau chains. Afterwards they appear separated and evenly dispersed.
Mobility restored
Discrete cells drift independently through open plasma rather than moving as fused clumps, presenting more free surface than stacked cells.

Live blood darkfield microscopy — same client, same optics, before and after one AOI Earth session; both frames exposure-normalised for display. Observational imaging from real-world use; it does not establish causality — standardised, controlled AOI research is ongoing.

AOI reports this pattern occurring in 100% of sessions tested to date — an internal AOI observation, not yet the subject of an independent, controlled study.

Reading it right

How to read this page.

Everything here is either published research on the fields AOI draws on, or AOI's own observations from real-world use. Neither is a clinical trial, and observational findings show association, not causation. AOI is not a medical device and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, mitigate or prevent any disease. CE certification.

EXPERIENCE

Read it, then try it.

That is what has been measured. The session itself is a private room, light and sound, and nothing asked of you.
